1.Most animals eat plants - but did you know that some plants eat animals?
There are more than four hundred species .
Carnivorous means meat eating (just like dinosaurs)
Some carnivorous are native to New Zealand.
2.Why are some plants carnivorous?
All plants use light energy from the sun.
They turn water into carbon dioxide into food.
This process is called Photosynthesis.

Venus flytraps have bright green leaves.
Venus flytraps have leaves that are joined like seashells.
When a fly lands on a leaf then the two leaves snap shut.
